At 75 years old, I find joy in wearing red lipstick. It makes me feel stylish and confident. Yesterday, as I prepared a family dinner, my son noticed me applying my favorite shade of crimson. He smirked and said, “Mom, you look like a desperate old clown clinging to your youth. It’s embarrassing.”
His harsh comment struck deep, leaving me wounded. Red lipstick has always been my way of expressing myself. But now, I can’t shake the feeling that I truly appear frightening. Should I give up the red lipstick?
Remember, self-expression knows no age. If red lipstick brings you happiness, wear it proudly!
