Father kicks wife and newborn twins out onto the street; years later, she begs for help

A father unwilling to spend money to raise his newborn twin girls asks his wife to give one up for adoption. He kicks her out with the girls when she refuses, and knocks on her door asking for help five years later.

It was a cold, rainy night, and Angie was cradling her newborn babies at the bus stop.

“Where will we go? God, please help us. Protect us during this difficult night,” she prayed, wiping tears from her babies’ faces.

Angie had nowhere else to go. Her parents had died a long time ago, and she couldn’t count on the girls’ father.

Suddenly, she felt something moving behind her and was terrified. She gathered her courage to protect her babies and turned around: “It’s a dog!” she sighed.

Angie never imagined her life would change overnight. She never thought her husband, Javier, whom she had trusted throughout their marriage, would throw her out with her babies just a week after their birth.

“I wish my mom was with me today… I’m sorry, Mom! Now I know I should have listened to you. I shouldn’t have rushed into marriage with Javier,” Angie sobbed.

Angie had met Javier five years ago, shortly after graduating. He was a handsome young man, and she thought he was the one.

They fell in love immediately and lived a fairytale love story with one exception: they didn’t have a happily ever after. Problems arose in the fourth year of their marriage when she told him she was pregnant.

“You know I just started my business. We’ve been putting off planning a baby all these years, and I’m still not ready to be a father,” Javier argued, somewhat annoyed when she showed him the two pink lines on her pregnancy test.

Javier’s reluctance to be a father was a sign that he wasn’t ready for the responsibilities. Angie was torn between her desire to be a mother and her husband’s refusal to have children. Things got worse when she learned she was expecting twins.

As Angie was preparing for her first ultrasound, Javier jokingly told her, “I hope you don’t come out and tell me we’re having twins.” His mouth curved in a gesture she hated. Moments later, the joke became a reality.

“What happened?” he asked, impatient for her answer. “What did the doctor say?”

Angie was pale, distressed, and worried. She swallowed her fear and told him, “Our babies are fine,” she said.

“Babies?” he exclaimed.

Angie’s scan revealed two tiny lives growing inside her. She was pregnant with twins, and Javier wasn’t happy to hear it.

Javier headed to his car as Angie ran after him. She was nervous and thought he might soon be enchanted by the idea. But his reactions proved otherwise.

He distanced himself from Angie day by day and focused on his work. She knew he was upset about having twins and assumed it would calm down over time, but things got worse during the third trimester.

Angie was at the hospital, waiting for Javier to see her newborns. But he never showed up. He sent a driver three days later to take Angie and the babies home.

Javier didn’t want to get involved with the girls. He didn’t even welcome them home. He wasn’t happy and wasn’t ready to be their father. But Angie had no idea what he would propose.

“We’ll keep just one girl and give the other up for adoption. If that’s okay with you, we’ll be a family of three. If not, you can leave home with them,” he told her.

At first, Angie thought Javier was joking. He dragged his suitcase into the living room and placed it in front of her, letting her know he was serious.

“I’m not ready to raise two daughters and spend all my money on them. My business is thriving, and I need to focus on making more money… I don’t want to waste my time and wealth raising two girls. I’m willing to accept just one,” he explained.

Angie was devastated. “They’re our daughters, Javier. How can you ask a mother to give up her baby? Are you crazy? I love them both, I couldn’t choose just one,” she cried. But Javier wouldn’t budge.

“You can stay in this house as long as you accept my terms. Keep just one baby, or leave if you want both. Choose wisely,” he said, knowing Angie had nowhere else to go.

She grabbed her suitcase and left the house with her daughters. Javier’s greed had blinded him, but Angie was there to protect them.

Angie returned to the present and found herself still at the bus stop, cradling her babies. “Where will I go? Please help me, God,” she pleaded, and was interrupted by an intense beam of light.

“Hi, are you okay? It’s raining heavily. Do you want a ride?” a woman’s voice offered from a taxi. Angie looked up and saw a nun. She wrapped her babies in her jacket and approached the car.

“How adorable your babies are!” the nun exclaimed. “Get in. I’ll take you. Where do you want to go?”

“I don’t know, sister,” Angie admitted. “I’m alone and I don’t know what to do. My babies and I were abandoned by the one who was supposed to care for and protect us.”

The nun understood her plight and immediately took her to the convent. Angie and her daughters, Sofia and Mariela, found a safe haven there while they struggled to cope.

Angie began teaching at the church-run school. She also took a part-time job at a restaurant, and three years later, she had saved enough money to open a small cafe.

Gradually, Angie began to give her daughters a better life. But deep down in her heart, she hoped Javier would realize his mistake and come meet them one day.

Five years passed, and Angie was able to buy her own house. It was small, but very cozy and comfortable. She enjoyed watching Sofía and Mariela grow, despite the difficulties she sometimes faced.

His business flourished, thanks to his great motivation and good attitude. Javier’s business, on the other hand, eventually collapsed. He was drowning in debt and soon found himself alone and without the support of investors.

Javier knew how well Angie was doing at the time and thought she could help him.

“Hi, what are you doing here?” Angie asked, surprised. When she opened the door, the last thing she expected was to see Javier standing in the doorway. “Come in!”

Javier smiled vaguely and immediately apologized. “I’m so sorry I abandoned you. My greed cost me dearly. I’m bankrupt. Please forgive me. I need your help.”

Angie now understood why Javier had come. She’d heard about his financial problems, but she never thought he’d visit her and apologize, much less ask for her help.

Javier saw a photo of Angie with the girls and cried. “I’m so sorry. Please forgive their dad,” he said. Angie’s heart sank. She knew he had come seeking financial help, and she was considering giving it to him.

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to pay you back this amount of money soon. I’ll need time. I know I was a horrible person and a heartless father, and you can’t imagine how grateful I am for this,” he sobbed as he took the check from Angie’s hand.

“The night you kicked me out with our daughters, I learned the damage greed can do. And today I learned what forgiveness is. We all make mistakes, but as humans, we must forgive one another,” Angie said.

That night, the two had a chance to have a heart-to-heart talk. Angie suggested he get to know the girls and gradually learn how to be the father they needed. He excitedly accepted.
