Every morning, on my way to work, I passed by an ordinary house with a small dog in the yard. This dog was always very friendly, and I had never seen the slightest trace of aggression in it.
However, one day, while passing by this house, I noticed that the dog was sitting under a tree, motionless. It was surprising because usually, it would joyfully run around the garden every time I passed. I first thought it was just resting and didn’t pay much attention. But the scene repeated over the following days. For three days straight, it stayed there, unmoving. It was becoming increasingly strange, as such an energetic dog seemed completely frozen.
Worried, I decided to check if everything was okay. I first shouted to see if anyone was home. When no one responded, I climbed over the fence to approach the dog. When it looked at me, I saw an infinite sadness in its eyes. That’s when I understood something was seriously wrong.
What I discovered completely shook me…
As I approached the dog, I finally understood what was wrong.
A leash was attached to its collar, but that wasn’t the worst part.
The knot was too tight, deeply embedded in its skin.
I could see signs of irritation and redness around its neck.
It was still not moving, exhausted and clearly in pain.
Its eyes, which were usually full of life and joy, were now filled with pain.
I immediately took the dog in my arms and rushed it to the vet.
The vet, after examining its neck, confirmed that it was suffering from a severe irritation.
Thanks to the appropriate treatment, the redness quickly faded.
After a few days of care, the dog regained its energy and its smile.
Since the owners of this house hadn’t returned during all this time, I decided to keep the dog.
I was relieved to see this little creature regain its joy of life, and I knew it would never be abandoned to its sad fate again.
